“Come on,” cajoled a restless Jia Xuan. “Just one more page.” Jia Xuan loved reading. Reading took Jia Xuan to far off places where her favourite characters would interact and she’d be able to experience whatever they were going through from the comfort of her little chair.
Jia Xuan especially wanted someone to read to her so that her mind was free to imagine while she listened to the subtle intonations of what was being read. However, Jia Xuan realised she was pushing her luck just a little too much if she were to ask that the whole book be read to her; so she put on her cutest, most adorable face, realising that some hearts would melt at the sight, and implored with the sweetest voice she could muster, “Just one more page?”
